Press Release: EPA Services Now Digitally Accessible Through oneGov
Ref: OGV.PR.23.3

oneGov is excited to announce that two key services from Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) of the Maldives are now available through oneGov. This marks an important milestone in our joint effort with the EPA to modernize and digitalize their services and offer them seamlessly through oneGov.
We are pleased to initiate this journey by introducing the first two services from the Environmental Resource Center (ERC) of EPA as part of our multi-phase rollout plan.
Effective 21 December 2023, the two services available one oneGov are:
Projected Species Research Permit: This service can be used to get permits to conduct research on species that come under the Maldives’ Protected Species Regulation (№2021/R-25). It is available to any individual or organisation seeking to conduct research related to protected species.
Protected Area Research Permit: This service can be used to get permits to conduct research on protected areas that come under the Environment Protection and Preservation Act (4/93). It is available to any individual or organisation seeking to conduct research related to protected areas.
In addition to these inaugural services, we are actively working with EPA to offer additional services that will further enhance the citizen experience in accessing public services in the Maldives. We are excited to announce that additional EPA services are planned for launch in early 2024.
With the arrival of EPA services to oneGov, citizens will experience a streamlined application process with reduced paperwork, ensuring a more efficient and transparent digital service. For EPA Staff, the adoption of oneGov will simplify workflows, minimise human errors, and enhance efficiency and transparency in processing applications with the help of oneGov Workplace. Overall, oneGov enhances accessibility and effectiveness for both citizens and EPA staff in delivering public services.
We sincerely thank the EPA for their collaboration and trust in oneGov. Your support has been instrumental in reaching this milestone, and we look forward to continuing our partnership to further improve and expand the range of EPA services on oneGov.
