Press Release: URA Services Now Digitally Accessible Through oneGov

Ref: OGV.PR.23.4

The URA service launch on oneGov was inaugurated by the Chief Executive, Yazeedh Ahmed

oneGov is excited to announce that the first service from the Utility Regulatory Authority is now available through oneGov. This marks an important milestone in our joint effort with the URA to modernise and digitalize their services and offer them seamlessly through oneGov.

We are pleased to initiate this journey by introducing the first service from URA as part of our multi-phase rollout plan.

Effective 27 December 2022, the first URA service available one oneGov is:

  • Dewatering Permit for Construction and Industrial Projects: This service can be used to determine whether procedures for construction or other industrial projects are within regulation to carry out dewatering tasks on site. It is available to any individual or a delegate of a company who is a Maldivian citizen.

In addition to this inaugural service, we are actively working with URA to offer additional services that will further enhance your experience in accessing public services in the Maldives. We are excited to announce that additional URA services are planned for launch in early 2024.

With the arrival of the URA’s services to oneGov, citizens will experience a streamlined application process with reduced paperwork, ensuring a more efficient and transparent digital service.

For URA Staff, the adoption of oneGov will simplify workflows, minimise human errors, and enhance efficiency and transparency in processing applications with the help of oneGov Workplace.

Overall, oneGov enhances accessibility and effectiveness for both citizens and URA staff in delivering public services.

We sincerely thank the URA for their collaboration and trust in oneGov. Your support has been instrumental in reaching this milestone, and we look forward to continuing our partnership to further improve and expand the range of URA services on oneGov.
