Tradian Meets Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation to Review Vessel Declaration Service Progress

This particular meeting was to review the updates for the upcoming Vessel Declaration (VD) service.

The Tradian has recently met with the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation (MoTCA) as part of the ongoing development and enhancement of the Tradian system.

This particular meeting was to review the payment module of the upcoming Vessel Declaration (VD) service, which will go live on the Tradian system once it is ready and approved by the relevant stakeholders.

The session focused on assessing recent system updates, validating requirements, and identifying any refinements needed to ensure smooth implementation and operational readiness.

The following is a short overview of the meeting.

System Review and Alignment

The discussion began with a general review of the latest updates made to the VD payment module.

Both teams revisited previously agreed requirements and assessed whether the implemented changes aligned with operational needs.

The session provided an opportunity for MoTCA to confirm that the system captures the necessary information to support their oversight and administrative functions.

Also, feedback was shared to ensure that the module remains practical, accurate, and aligned with real-world processes.

Payment Processes and Controls

A key area of focus was the broader payment workflow. The teams discussed how invoices are generated, how payments are processed, and how the system manages outstanding dues.

General operational scenarios were explored to ensure that payment timelines, confirmations, and service restrictions are clearly structured within the system.

The objective was to ensure that payment compliance is enforced in a consistent and transparent manner, while maintaining a smooth user experience for stakeholders.

Reporting and Operational Considerations

The meeting also touched on reporting capabilities and system behaviour under different operational scenarios.

This included high-level discussions on how payment records are accessed, how statuses are reflected, and how potential edge cases, such as system timeouts or transaction delays, are handled.

Broader considerations around system reliability and operational continuity were acknowledged, particularly in relation to payment gateway integrations and round-the-clock service needs.

Overall, the meeting served as a constructive checkpoint in the continued rollout and refinement of the VD payment module within Tradian.

By reviewing progress, clarifying requirements, and identifying areas for improvement, both teams reaffirmed their shared commitment to delivering a robust and efficient digital solution.

Through ongoing collaboration between Tradian and MoTCA, work on the Vessel Declaration service continues to progress towards going live.

The service will be an important component in the work done to establish a more streamlined and accountable maritime regulatory process in the Maldives.
