Tradian Holds Refresher Session for CBRAs Ahead of Vessel Declaration Service Launch
With the launch planned soon, the session played an important role in aligning agencies and strengthening coordination ahead of implementation.
The Tradian team has held a refresher session on the upcoming Vessel Declaration service for the cross-border regulatory authorities (CBRAs) of the Maldives.
The session was held this morning at the MINDCo Head Office and brought together representatives from Maldives Customs Service, Maldives Ports Limited, Port Health, and the Maldives National Defence Force.
As the Maldives’ National Single Window System, Tradian has proven to be a key component of trade in the Maldives. The addition of Vessel Declaration as a service will be a further step towards transforming how trade is done locally.
This is a short breakdown of the event.

Refresher Session for Agencies
Conducted as a face to face discussion, the session focused on the approval side of the Vessel Declaration workflow.
It served as an opportunity to revisit the process, clarify roles, and ensure that each agency is familiar with how the service will function once it goes live on Tradian.
With the launch planned soon, the session played an important role in aligning agencies and strengthening coordination ahead of implementation.

Understanding the Service
The Vessel Declaration service is a key addition to Tradian. It will digitalise the process of declaring foreign-going vessels entering or departing Maldivian waters, replacing the current manual system that relies heavily on email submissions and physical documentation.
Through the platform, shipping agents will be able to submit all required information electronically, including details on cargo, crew, passengers, health declarations, and onboard conditions. Authorities will then be able to review, approve, and track these submissions within a single system.
This shift is expected to improve efficiency, reduce paperwork, and enable faster decision making, while maintaining strict oversight on national security, public health, and environmental safeguards.

Moving Towards Launch
With preparations now well underway, the introduction of the Vessel Declaration on Tradian marks a significant step forward in modernising maritime operations in the Maldives.
The recent refresher session highlights the collaborative effort behind the service, ensuring that all participating authorities are ready for a smooth transition.
As the launch approaches, the Vessel Declaration service stands to play a central role in creating a more transparent, efficient, and coordinated trade environment for the country.
We will share more updates as they come.
